I had planned to travel south after my last day on ski patrol near the end of February. But a giant storm with feet of snow and high winds was moving in so I somehow, with alot of help from Steve, managed to pack up and leave two days early. So on Saturday February 21 I started driving south.
It was difficult to know just what to pack as the entire east coast was cold but my trip would take me all the way to Key West. So I packed everything from electric blanket and zero degree sleeping bag to my stand-up-paddleboard, swim suit and shelling supplies. I am looking forward to use all of them.
It will be great to meet my family and friends. Aunt Suzy and Uncle Gary in Dagsboro, De days before the storm hits and they lose power. Terry my bike and ice cream friend in Jekyll Island, Georgia. My nomad friends-Cory and Dags whom i get to spend 10 days with playing outside in Florida. Kim and Barry in Tybee Island, Georgia.
I am looking forward to picking up Steve at Sanford Airport and he will join my travels for two weeks. We will stop to meet new members of our family Lore and Patrick Schneider in North Carolina. Mia and Quinn eloped in Florida in January! And we will stop to introduce ourselves to his parents.
