Friday June 13

It was a quiet night in the parking lot of Boothbay. At daybreak I set off to see the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in Bristol, Maine. It is rumored to be one of the most photographed Lighthouses in the USA.

I was there before it opened so it was quiet, free and empty. The roses surrounding it smelled amazingly nice.

One of the caretakers was a retired policeman and we talked all about the lighthouse. He showed me a video of a big wave washing a tourist into the rocks last September.

There was a restaurant/gift shop next door that served pancakes the size if pizzas! It also had some interesting items.

I wanted to see how oysters are farmed so I stopped at Glidden Point Oyster Farm. I asked about the farm and they just so happened to have a tour in 10 minutes.

I learned about oyster farming on the Damariscotta River and got a lesson on shucking Oysters. They were the best I ever had and Im not a fan of raw oysters.

My next stop was the Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, to see Trolls.

and Lupins!
