I found another beautiful lake to paddle- Echo Lake. There are multiple places to park one being off of route 102 at the Acadia Mountain Trailhead. Not a good spot to launch a boat but great for swimming and hanging out on giant rocks.
There is a public beach on the south end of the lake.
I left the lake for Acadia and Cadillac Mt. I wanted to experience a sunset on Cadillac.
There is now a reservation system in place to drive up Cadillac Mt and sunrise and sunset tickets sell out. But there is no fee to bike up Cadillac. So I parked at the base on the loop road and ebiked up and waited for sunset with the crowds.
