Saturday June 7
Lots of rain overnight but we stayed dry in the tent and got up early to hike as rain was holding off until afternoon so we wanted to get a hike in.
We car pooled to the trailhead for Gorham Mt.

It was cloudy and foggy on the very rocky trail so you couldn’t get the great views but it was still pretty.

We hiked together as a group of 6 and made it to the top.

The hike down was very tough on the knees. We made it back to camp and I made poke bowls for lunch despite the jackery refusing to cooperate with my rice cooker. But everyone was hungry and sushi rice cooked in a pan was ok even tho not as fluffy.
We learned on the hike that it was Donna’s birthday and the rain started so it was decided that we go into the town of Bar Harbor for a drink to celebrate.

Bar Harbor was a hopping spot. It seemed like everyone had the same idea to go walk around the town in rain gear and shop and eat.
There were plenty of souvenir shops with tshirts and hats. I enjoyed going to a marketplace that had handmade goods from Maine artists and always try to support local artisans.
The marina looked eerie with the fog.

I was surprised we had a second wind to walk around and shop after the hike and alcohol. So when we got back to the campsite everyone went to bed. I chose to sleep in my dry warm van as it was still raining.
