Another beautiful day so I checked out of my campsite at Schoodic Woods in Acadia and headed north to Machiasport and my favorite smooth stone beach-Jasper Beach. A rock lovers dream!

Its called the “singing beach” because as the surf rolls over the rocks it makes a cool sound.

I got a few rocks to add to my collection.

On the cliffs on the East there are caves with petroglyphs but you can only enter at low tide.

I drove further north to Lubec and the Quoddy Head Lighthouse. It is the Eastern most point in America.

There are a few cliffside trails with amazing views. Sometimes you can see whales.

I didn’t have any camping reservations and started my drive south on coastal route 1. It was getting to be close to sunset when I noticed a cool looking harbor town with lots of people walking around so I stopped in Belfast, Maine.

Belfast had a walking path with a pedestrian bridge over the harbor.

It was the night of the strawberry full moon so I hung out on the bridge to take some photos and I spotted a seal.

I waited a good hour after sunset to try to get some full moon photos.

It was acute harbor area with at least three micobreweries and resteraunts.

I found a parking spot on a street just above the harbor and stealth slept there for the night.
