This weekend, May 3, I had the opportunity to teach at the “Women in the Wilds” program at Little Buffalo State Park in Newport, Pa(North West of Harrisburg). I taught “Wild and Fearless: building confidence for solo adventures in nature.” A lecture I developed to give women resources to help them get outdoors.

I taught two sessions each attended by 20 women.

It was interesting to see just how many ladies had not done outdoor hikes or camped solo. It was apparent that there is a demand for information to help them.
I had reached out to some companies to donate products for the lecture and I am so thankful for their donations.
Purple Lizard donated maps and stickers. I love their maps and I have quite a collection of their products. Their new map of all of Pennsylvania is my favorite.

Pstyle and Freshette donated some female pee funnels which I call game changers when it comes to peeing outdoors. Adding to the leave no trace principle, Kula cloth sent some of their products in an effort to alleviate all those piles of tp laying around outside.

Coalcracker Bushcraft sent some awesome cookware and stickers. I learned so much information at their three classes I have attended. It’s so convenient that they are held in Pennsylvania.

My classes went very well and I hope it inspires gals to go outside and play.
Keep an eye out for other Women in the Wilds programs at many Pa State Parks.
I camped there and was provided with a nice campsite.
