I biked into town of Key West about 6 miles. When I hit a bump, my bike pannier fell off. Perhaps it was a tad overloaded with beach gear. And I didnt even bring my scuba fins.
There was a line to take a photo at the southern most buoy. It wrapped around the block..so this is my photo. I was not about to stand in line.

I had planned on snorkeling at Fort Zachery State Park but the beach was closed for sand restoration. I have great sympathy for the admission attendant who had to tell everyone. She did tell me the next closest beach was Higgs.

It was not hard to find Higgs and it was beautiful and free with bathrooms, water and a shower. As an added bonus it had a snorkeling trail.

I was excited to snorkel and it did not dissapoint. I saw a nurse shark-I hope, two very Large stingrays, a puffer fish and lots of conches. I just love their eyeballs on sticks.
I had enough sun so I rode to two places to have frozen chocolate key lime pie on a stick for dinner. Kermits was the best.

It was fun biking around taking in the scenery. The tiny colorfull homes and the trees and flowers.

I visited mile marker zero and cruised Duval st with live bands.

Then I watched the sunset from Mallory Square and biked home.
