It was time to leave my buddy Luke and his great marina in New Bern, NC.

I have been blessed with great weather but the winds have been pretty strong. I white-knuckled my 3.5 hour drive for a lot of the way. It was really exciting when I passed a large tractor trailer with the sign “EXPLOSIVES”.

I took a break by stopping at a sporting goods store to walk around. I was able to get a large brimmed straw hat, in child’s size(Steve I can return yours), a ka-bar spork with a hidden knife and a pepper spray/tazor combo. All the essentials a girl needs!

My next stop was a very fancy farm stand. They had fresh ice cream-i was afraid to try the sweet potato flavor. They also had fresh strawberries that were big and wonderful…also $7.

I arrived at Huntington Beach State Park Murrells Inlet,SC in the late afternoon. Severe storms were expected after 8pm. The park is very popular and I was unable to reserve an RV spot and had a walk-in tent site. I wondered if I should set up my screen tent or just hang out in the car? I ended up doing both.

After setting up it was time to explore by bike. The beach had packed sand so it was good to ride on.
