Jekyll Island

February 28-March 2

I just love the small island. Its so nice to bike around especially since I met my friend Terry there on my last trip. Terry lives there and bikes everyday. We got together to ride and make our ice cream stop in the historical section with beautiful old houses and oak trees full of spanish moss.

I bike to the driftwood beach and set up my hammoc and just hang at the beach all day. It still wasnt that warm but i layered up and did ok.

There is only one campground and it is usually booked. They also do NOT allow you to reserve a specific site. So when I arrived and told my site was smack dab in the middle of rv central on the main road I almost cried. But I kindly asked if there were any OTHER sites available and was so lucky to get one all the way in the back. It was quiet and private and close to the wonderful bird feeders where I saw a painted bunting!

There was a full moon and it looked amazing behind the moss covered trees but my photos didnt really do it justice.
