July 10-13
Held at Mill Cove Environmental Area in Tioga, Pa this weekend is for women of all ages to enjoy the outdoors by fostering self reliance and learning practical skills and connecting with nature.
I have had the pleasure to attend for 3 out of the 4 years of the camp and this year I was an instructor.

My pavilion was visited nightly by a porcupine who would gnaw on the rafters and rain poop onto the picnic table.

The area is absolutely beautiful with amazing sunsets on Mill Creek.

One of the classes taught us how to flint knapping-the process of making stone tools by striking it with another rock. We practiced with glass pieces due to the silica content.

The instructor had some really nice finished pieces.

All the cooking of meals was done at the campfire.

For the last supper we made stew with smoked pork and foraged plants like mushrooms and nettle.
